Questions parents ask

What ages is ChessMate for?

Kids 6-12 get the most out of the lessons and puzzles, but the robot coach adapts to any skill level — younger kids play with simpler boards, older kids unlock harder puzzles.

Does my child need an account?

No account is required to play. Creating an account is optional and only needed if your child wants to save progress across devices or appear on the leaderboard.

Is the app safe for kids?

Yes. No ads, no chat with strangers, no in-app purchases, no tracking across other apps. COPPA-compliant by design.

Can my child play offline?

Yes. The web version works offline once loaded. The mobile apps download lessons for offline play automatically.

How much does it cost?

Free during the waitlist period. We will always keep a generous free tier — full pricing details land when the full game launches.
